Rank Group is already one of the biggest gambling operators in the United Kingdom, owning and operating over 30 Grosvenor Casinos across the country. Now, Rank is looking to conquer a larger portion of the land-based gambling market in the UK, bidding £250 million for the company.

Gala is the second-largest casino brand in the UK, with over 20 casinos across the nation. Should Rank Group successfully acquire the company, it will own over 50 casinos in the United Kingdom, becoming one of the biggest land-based operators in Europe. 

In acquiring Gala, Rank hopes to market the casino brand to gamblers under the age of 30. The company has already put this marketing scheme into effect at its Grosvenor Casinos, and it seems to be having a positive effect. 

More and more young people are getting involved in gambling across the UK. Especially when it comes to skill games like poker, it is likely to see more university students and adults in their mid-20s playing casino table games. 

Rank wants to capitalize on the opportunities that are available, and Gala Casinos seems to be an ideal brand to test the waters with. Gala has yet to respond to the offer, but negotiations are likely to take place.
