INTRODUCTION TO CASINO WAR

Casino Was is arguably one of the easiest games to learn and understand. The game is based on one the first card games that someone will learn as a child. Where the higher card in the deck simply beats the lower card. This is definitely a game for players that want to test their luck as there is no real strategy that is involved with this game.

HOW TO PLAY CASINO WAR

Casino War is played with 6 decks of cards which carry the same ranking as in poker (see the Guide to Poker for details) except aces which are always high. Player’s decide on how much to stake and the dealer must match this amount. The player and dealer are then dealt one card each. If the player’s card is higher they win, if the dealer’s card is higher the player loses.

If the cards are the same the player can do one of two things: Either surrender and lose half the original bet or decide to go to War. When going to War the player must add an additional bet equal to the first. Most casino rules state the dealer must match that bet as well.

Once player and dealer are at War and bets have been placed the dealer burns three cards (this means he takes the top three cards in the pack and places them face-down on the table). The dealer then gives the player one card, burns three more cards and gives himself a new card. Whoever has the highest card wins all the money. But, if the cards are equal yet again, the player wins the War and sometimes can even win an additional bonus (depending on the casino).

Casino War Strategy

Because Casino War is based mostly on chance the only real strategy to consider is whether or not to go to War. Going to War gives the house an edge of 2.88%, surrendering on a tie gives the house 3.7% and betting on a tie gives the house an 18.65% edge. The house edge also increases with the number of decks in play and decreases if the casino offers a bonus.

CASINO WAR STRATEGY

Casino War is a great casino game to learn. A game of chance, it has very simple rules and requires very little skill. But, there are essential strategies that a player should learn before hitting the casino floor and they should keep them in mind while playing. These strategies will not only help you play the game better but also prevent you from making simple mistakes.

Casino War seems like a fair game to play, as the player and the house have fairly even odds (46.3%) on the first card. However, the house advantage increases when there is a tie between the player and the dealer. The number of decks also has an impact on the house edge, causing it to increase with every deck that is added.

Two two most important Casino War strategies are as follows: Never surrender, and never bet on a tie.

When you and the dealer are both dealt the same card, do not surrender. Although it is risky to continue playing, the odds are still in your favour. Because surrendering means giving your money to the house, it is a better decision to risk your bet at a 2.33% house edge than giving up your money at a 3,7% house edge.

Betting on a tie bet has a 10 to 1 payout, so it isn't exactly a lucrative bet. So, side bets can add some extra excitement to the game in this scenario, but don't count on it to bring in a lot of extra money.

Also, a quick tip to keep in mind is to watch the Aces that come up. Doing this will give you a good idea of how many winning cards are left in the deck, so you know how probable your chances of winning are.

Finally, keep an eye on your stack. Make sure you have enough money to cover the costs of going to war. It would be a terrible shame to find out your stack is gone after you end up in a tie. You'd have to surrender and give up anyways.
